Dr. Way is a fully certified Kinesio Taping practitioner. Unlike traditional sports taping, Kinesio Tape is elastic which allows it to provide stability to joints and muscles without preventing normal circulation or range of motion. It can also be used for reinforcing positioning between maintenance chiropractic adjustments, minimizing swelling and decreasing pain.
Kinesio Tape is applied in specific methods by sports chiropractors over muscles and joints to reduce inflammation, decrease pain, relax tightened muscles, and to provide stabilty and support to moving joints. Because it is elastic, Kinesio Tape will not restrict full range of motion.
Traditional sports taping, in contrast, is only used for temporary rigid stabilization, preventing normal range of motion, and has the side effect of decreasing blood circulation during use.
